Harbins Alcovy Park and Trail System Grand Opening PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 10 March 2009

Join the Gwinnett Area Trail Riders (GATR) in Dacula, Georgia on Saturday, March 21st from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for the Grand Opening of Harbins Alcovy Park and Trail System, Gwinnett County’s newest and largest park. Be among the first to ride a trail system that has yet to be touched by mountain bike tires! Ride on almost 7 miles or pristine trails that offer a smattering of roots and rocks served up in either a thick loam or clay surface.

This event has something for everyone, including group rides, bike skills clinics for kids and beginners, and demo bikes from Appalachee Cycles and Bikeways of Tucker. The Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation department is providing free hot dogs and drinks for the affair. Celebrate mountain biking, and enjoy Gwinnett County’s newest park. The park is located at 2295 Luke Edwards Rd, Dacula, GA 30019.

The unprecedented level of coordination between Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation, Aaron Steele of SAI Trails, and GATR chapter of SORBA on the design and build of the mountain bike trail system at Harbins Park has led to fantastic results. The success of this effort was made possible by leadership from Dave Greenwell and Darryl Clark and by many volunteer hours contributed over the last four months by our chapter members. Come out and experience it for yourself!
