Paulding SORBA Lives Their Motto of Dig - Ride - Smile |

 For digging, Paulding SORBA partnered with Engage Atlanta (www.engageatlanta.org) for the Community Makeover (www.communitymakeover.net) at Mount Tabor Park over the weekend of July 31- August 2. In the span of that weekend, 1624 volunteer hours were amassed, with 132 volunteers working on Saturday and 100 on Sunday. These hard-working volunteers opened up a 1.3 mile loop and completed approximately a mile on another loop. Amazing effort from everyone involved! On Sunday, the volunteers were offered a special treat--authentic Mexican food for a $4 donation. The food was expertly and lovingly prepared by Alicia Ruiz and several ladies from her church, Iglesia Evangelica Christina Espirtual. The $465 raised will help to replace their church building, which was lost in a fire in 2007.
 For riding, there was an off-road Time Trials held every Tuesday evening in July. The series finale was a fundraiser for one of their members, who is participating in the Breast Cancer 3 Day Walk in October. Response was so positive that the series has been extended through mid-October!
After all of that working and riding, the members couldn’t help smiling; but, Paulding SORBA also held a cookout at President Dave Senecal’s house to celebrate the success of everybody’s efforts!
With more than 2200 volunteer hours so far this year, many would be content to slow down – not Paulding SORBA. Between now and the end of the year, Paulding SORBA will be hosting 6 more Time Trials, 3-4 more work parties, as well as Assault on Brushy Mountain, Take A Kid Mountain Biking Day and a visit from the IMBA Trail Care Crew.
